Report by Wayne:
By the order of the Chief Commander of the Peoples Liberation Army of HKSAR.
I totally agree with you that the last Sat. match was a very remarkable game
ever played which surely worthwhile to be put on our game log book.
The Dragon boat festival day was hot at the hill top platform but we ended
up with a big group of player. We have LaSalle triple (Micheal, Daniel,
Jeremy), Jimmy's brother, Chris, Eric, Martin, Fan, Chui. The formation
started with goalkeeper Gary, defence Jimmy, Jerry, Marco, Andrew, mid
field Alan, Kevin, Ming, Danny, attacker Floodflood, Chung.
In what seemed a tough team on past record turned out to be a very enjoyable
game to the warriors. However in opening exchange we suffered a mass
pressure in left and right defence that squeezed Jimmy & Alan to empty.
After 5 min, we have Martin replaced Andrew because of his aged back pain.
This great cameo appearance was possibly the highlight and demonstrated to
the youngins how the confidence team work played by Kevin, Ming & Chung. We
levelled up the mid field after 15 mins substitution of Alan to Chris. My 2
knife plan was finally achieved by Floodflood and Chung. He skinned the left
defence and looped cross towards Chung's head at the far corner of 6yr box.
Everyone was expecting a China LongMarch rocket header by Chung, he chested
in the ball talently to the lower corner of the net. That was so wonderful
even the helicopter, which hired by Henderson Land, flew over and saluted
its Grand Promenade advertising flag to him.
The next goal is somewhat an ease job from him, landed the ball with his
right foot then finished it with a burst of speed toward the helpless
keeper. Now everybody was expecting when was Floodflood's solo time. The
ball was properly setup by our left mid fielders, after beating one defender
and goalkeeper, he sliced the ball weakly to the empty net but was stopped
just before the goal line. This could be a 3-0 goal. I think this is the
difference of a psycho mature player. With 10 min left of the first half,
the LaSalle triple were sent to the field for any demolition.
The 2nd half continued with the last formation and well balanced between our
opponent. Even though we did not have too much good chance, our defenders
and Gary still was able to hold his nerve on several occasions. They clawed
1 back by a penalty kick. The nearest ref judged it was ball hand but the
far side ref whistled as a hand ball.
Our generosity soon came to a return, our new third knife Martin, capturing
the ball from 40 yr, leaving all the defender chasing air, completely
outplayed them and scored the 3-1 goal.
At the last 15 mins of the 2nd half, the starting formation were again
called to the field since they had enough rest under Danny's 15 ft dia sun
umbrella. But things did not go to plan as their left midfielder linking up
well with their striker. Gary took the ball from the net twice within the
last 5 min.
May be it is some positive result of my last game report. Everybody played
very well even it was under the heavy sun of Dragon boat festival. Along the
sideline, I enjoyed very much of you people's performance. I hope you all
agree that how well we play is also based on teammate's co-relationship and
spirit.

-----
Wayne,
Flood's missed opportunity came before the second goal and was due to a
weak backpass to their goalie by their most reliable defender. This
demonstrated how much pressure they're under at that point. I would think
LaSalle Trio or Threesome might be a more appropriate name provided Jeremy
is also a LaSalle boy. The other two should be Michael and Jim. You can
call them LaSalle Twins or Boyz. Please also mention how much we missed
the presence of George and Horace at our defense when we started to
flatten and got caught up by our opponent in the second half. One most
important point omitted is the great skill display by Jimmy to dribble
through two defenders to create a breakaway opportunity for Chung though
not capitalized due to mis-communication.
Regards,
Kevin

Report by Wayne:
The 9:30 morning was clear and high after yesterday night amber rain strom
signal. The grass cushion was soft and it perfectly matched the old day
Columbia field.
The starting formation has been altered by swaping our attacker Ming to
right back, Alan as right mid-field, Chung as upfront attacker because of
Ming's ankle injury.
The early exchanges were fairly even with both Alan and Jimmy winning their
fair share of balls in mid field. Couples of good drive was delivered to the
penalty box. Any of Goodrich's attacks were cut-off guillotine like from
Macro and George who left nothing for their goalkeeper. With entering the
frame all of the sudden we seem to have more attacking options. The first
goal was started by Macro at back field, adjusted to the right by Jimmy
then pass cleverly to Kevin and finished nicely by Chung.
With 0-1 goal behind, the opponent team was enforcing their pressure havoc
up front left and middle but returned with no reward by our high spirit
defence squad, Danny, Horace, George & Macro. Until..., one thigh height
ball from outside the box, drawing not much caution to the keeper and trying
to stop the rolling by foot, suddenly bounced off the uneven muddy field
reversely. Mourning that it could be a disaster to our team spirit, he was
so upset but received a warm encouragement from Macro.
After the substitution a change of formation and Andrew middle, we started
to really dominate the game. The highlight of the game performed by our
to-morrow young brave star Micheal and experienced Kevin, a lost ball fast
controlled by Kevin to the left corner of field, dragging a couple opponent
players off the position as the Micheal fast break thru towards the centre.
The ball was beautifully looped over the hands of the keeper and landed
softly onto the runing route of Micheal. Take no mercy, score his 1st
winning goal. The first half ended by Andrew famous Beckham style free kick
slided off the cross bar from 30yr away.
The second half saw the flood gates open, the next goal from Kevin a
Nesterlord like fast reaction half volley tap-in was setup nicely by Chung's
flick. And to repeat his efforts from last goal, Chung was capable again
doing his solo (score 4-1) rewarding by another penalty after beating a
isolated defender. The ball was dead aim and hit inside the post by Jimmy
(5-1).
At the very last of game, Ming was very reluctantly to stay in his right
back position, wrenching his hurted right foot toward the mid-field party,
scored the 6th goal outside the box.
Danny is heathy enough of doing every hard job in front of the defense line.
This was the addition statement that missed in his doctor report. Everyone
played well and we had lots of cohesion (especially between Kevin, Jimmy and
Chung) in our play that I have seldomly seen in our recent game.
The whole day tournament on Jun 5 is re-scheduled to Jun 19 which is the
important period in HK education system. Being a parent, we should stay low
profile. I hope you all agree.
This coming Sat. is the last league game. Wish we can keep another sweet
memory.

Report by Wayne:
With the long weekend a large number of warriors were away. With resources
stretched, 10 mid 40's and 1 young Micheal + 1 junior skill goalkeeper were
to tackle 20+ stronger/younger, we were still able (a couple good chance)
to field against very strong match up to last 10 mins.
At the next day after attending the high level played by Eric Ng's team,
some of their olderly member offer us a 4 team tournament on Jun 5 at Tai O.
They claimed that it is a 9-a-side field which is in excellent condition and
would be allocated to us for the whole day.
This is a knock out match tournament. The winners of the first round matches
will advance to the championship match where the losers will advance for 3rd
& 4th ranking match. The half time break will be around 35min then continue
to play by the other teams. So the tournament would probably start from 11am
till 4pm. Then blow water expression as usual are very welcome during the
sea food meal beside the nice view harbour villa starting from 6pm.
While the warrior battling for their last glory before seasonal league
ending, the next generating of young warriors can do some outing execise,
hopefully strong enough to retain the past spirit for the pre-successor.
As people may already know the best way to Tai O is taking MTR to Tung Chung
then 45 min Lantern island bus. The road section from Tung Chung to Tai O is
the restricted route for special permit vechile only. Teammate with family
can park their car at Tung Chung (I believe they are cheap). The gathering
time is 10am at the floor fountain outside the MTR Tung Chung station.
Regards & Have a nice day.
